Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to receive my custom Pistons?
2-3 weeks from when you purchase your order you will receive your pistons in the mail.
When I order custom pistons do I need to account for the clearance, or does BRC do that for me?
No, you do not need to account for the clearance. Tell us the size of the bore and we will build in the clearance. You can ask for a specific clearance if you desire, but in general we use set clearances for specific applications and sizes.
How do I differentiate between a Right and Left piston?
Rotate the piston until the eyebrows are up. Is the large intake pocket on the right or left?
What is required to order a replacement of the same piston?
The job#, which is stamped on the underside of the pin boss, or the piton to be replaced must be mailed to BRC so the design team can work up the specs.
What bore sizes does BRC manufacture?
Between a 3.050" (77.5mm) and a 4.650" (118.1mm).
From what kind of metal are BRC pistons manufactured?
BRC pistons are made out of 2618 T-6 Heat Treat Aluminum.
If I send in a sample piston can BRC make me something similar?
Yes, BRC will analyze and work up a similar piston. The weight can be difficult to get exact due to forging differences, however it will be extremely close to the original if it's not exact.
